Monmouthshire Midland Takeover

I have a vague recollection of reading somewhere that there were preliminary discussions between the Monmouthshire Railway & Canal Co. and the Midland about the latter leasing or buying the former. Obviously this would be contingent upon the Midland taking over the B&M which never happened because it was blocked by the B&M's debenture holders. Can anybody provide a source of information to confirm my recollection please?

Thanks to Tudor, I can now answer my own question. The Midland and the MRCC were jointly considering taking over the B&M.
