Cambrian and B&MJR station buildings

Was there a standard "small station buildings" layout adopted by the B&M on the Newport to Brecon route? I have attached a photograph of Fochriw Station which shows a jumble of buildings. The "up" platform starts with the main unisex waiting room and booking office followed by what could be the goods room. This is then followed by, from what I can remember, a separate building which contained a very small ladies only waiting room with a fireplace and toilet and a gents outdoor urinal and indoor toilet. The down platform had a single unisex waiting room with a fireplace. To the credit of the station staff, during the coldest winter months all three fires were lit with the ones in the booking office waiting room and "down" platform waiting room roaring halfway up the chimney, even at 05:30 in the morning prior to the arrival of the first train of the day being the "colliers train" to Bargoed. Even in the worst of weather the down platform was used. Was there not a procedure in stations like Fochriw which possessed a passing loop which would have allowed the "up" platform to be used for trains going in either direction unless the loop was required for its intended purpose?
