I thought members would like to see this news item from the BBC about a proposal by Ceredigion Council that Bow Street station near Aberystwyth should be re-opened for freight traffic in an effort to reduce lorry traffic on the A44 and A487. I seem to think that proposals to re-open Bow Street (and Carno) for passengers were put forward a few years ago.

Undoubtedly not. But that comes at a later stage. However, given that there is a shortage of 40,000 HGV drivers in the UK, this may be a very timely idea.One wonders if the politicians have done any sums ...
