Magor

Post by Newport_rod »

On another forum (the Yahoo British Railways forum) I cam across a reference to this working:

"Mon 19th March GWR 2-8-0 3806 to be used for the 06.15 Salisbury - Magor."

I was a bit surprised by this. There were very limited facilities at Magor and those that existed were on the up side. Can anybody sugest haw and where this train might have been received?

It was 1962 and I don't know the class of train but I'd guess an F.

Thank you Noel, that makes perfect sense. I recall that the Spencer works required a lot of aggregate during its construction phase but that would probably have been earlier than March 1962.
