Hello all!
I've been making a few Wizard/51L and Taff Vale Models kits of Cambrian wagons in 4mm scale, and have spoken to Light Railway Stores about getting some custom etched works and number plates for them as they're fairly prominent on the solebars.
I've managed to scale them from photos in the Circle's drawings books, working most of the wagon number plates out to be approximately 12" x 8" ovals (the ones on the boiler truck, drawing CRW41 may be bigger or the solebar smaller, which seems unlikely). These don't seem to be a problem to get etched as the photos in the books are clear enough.
The Oswestry works makers plates appear to be approx. 10" x 6" or 6.5" over the main oval, with external fixing screws top/bottom/left/right. However, the drawings and photos aren't the easiest from which to produce etching artwork. An extract from the drawings book is below (I'll remove if anyone objects).
Does anyone happen to have any better, close up photos or drawings (and/or confirm dimensions) that they could pass my way to try and get some etched, please? With the bonus effect that if I do manage to get them done by LRS, they should be available for anyone else to buy in most scales...
Thanks in advance (I hope!)
Steve
