Welsh Highland Centenary

Post by dwrathan »

On 30 and 31 July 2022 the Welsh Highland are having a bit of a do to celebrate the centenary of the re-opening between Dinas Jn and Rhyd Ddu. In 2023 they will also be celebrating the opening throughout to Porthmadog in 1923. Details on their website.

I believe that, with the exception of the extension of the Felin Fran service to Llandarcy Platform in 1924, the WHR was the last passenger service to be started in Wales (83 years after the opening of the TVR and 64 years before the opening of the City Line in 1987).
