Clinker Memorial Lecture: 2:30pm, Saturday 24th October

The Clinker Lecture is an annual event organised by the Railway & Canal Historical Society in memory of the well known writer and transport historian C R Clinker.

Arrangements have been made for Mark Casson, Professor of Economics at the University of Reading, to deliver his Clinker Lecture: “Public Service or Private Profit? British Railway Policy 1845-2020” online at 14:30 on Saturday 24th October.

The meeting is open for all to join and non-members of the Railway & Canal Historical Society are cordially invited to do so.

The lecture will be followed by a Question & Answer session.

It will then be available on the Society’s website for a limited period before finally appearing in the Journal.

It will be a “virtual” meeting accessed by PC/laptop/tablet or by telephone. It will not be possible to attend in person.
