According to the Cookes track maps, there was a siding that existed between Whitchurch and Rhiwbina on the Cardiff Railway. Opened 1923 and closed 1928, and owned by Cardiff Corporation Waterworks.
The book "Reservoir Builders of South Wales" mentions this as serving Rhiwbina Waterworks. However there was also a siding used to build Wenault Reservoir which was at Whitchurch station, and would have been north of the line serving a ropeway to the reservoir site.
Neither are on any of the OS maps I can find and I am wondering if the book may have confused the Waterworks siding with one at Whitchurch and they are one and the same.
Any pointers, guidance or suggestions for sources of information are very welcome.
Thanks you
