In the period before it closed (with the WW2 cuts of September 1939) the short branch from Penar Jn (on the NA&H line near Crumlin) to Penmaen Halt "enjoyed" an advertised passenger service of only three trains a week, on Friday evenings leaving Penmaen at 1700, 1832 and 2051 towards Crumlin.
I'm intrigued as to what traffic such a minimalist service was designed to attract - any ideas?
