Runaway on ex-N&B line

Post by Newport_rod »

I wonder if anyone can provide any further information regarding these photographs.

From the surrounding topography its location has been identified as mid-way between the old Yniscedwyn/Ystradgynlais station and Abercrave on the former N&B line, and dated at 1955 to 1965.

Cheers

Yes this accident is on the Welsh Coal Mines site as per link provided in the earlier reply above - which is the forum topic where it is discussed.

In particular see the entry for 30th January 2025 on the Welsh Coal Mines forum at:
https://www.welshcoalmines.co.uk/forum/ ... 412,107432 (same site as in the previous reply).

Also note this is the link reply from the Welsh Coal Mines forum listing:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... YxDdmcyySo

The original reply includes details around the accident, which are given in the copy of the Llais Llafur paper image which was posted along with a fuller set of pictures of the accident itself.

Hope this helps if you didn't find the full details in the previous response already.
