I was looking at the list of signal boxes on the Rhymney Line south of Cefn Onn tunnel.
I noticed that the signalling society have on their site Cherry Orchard and Llanishen, but in between Llanishen Reservoir signal box.
Does anyone know anything more about this box and where it might have been located please?

Re: Llanishen Reservoir signal box
Tony Cooke's Track Layout Diagram page 45/26 shows the box existing 1884 to 1887 for reservoir construction work, located on the Up side just south of Llanishen station. It looks as though, when it closed in 1887, it was replaced by the box on the station.

Thanks. It's interesting as I have seen that, but the society lists it as being before the Llanishen one. Also a newspaper cutting of the time lists the siding as being north of Llanishen station.

Re: Llanishen Reservoir signal box
As the new reservoir was (and is) south of Llanishen station, does it seem likely the siding and 1884-1887 box would have been north of the station? The box at the station post-dated the reservoir box, not vice versa.
