There will be a meeting of the North West Branch of the Railway & Canal Historical Society (RCHS) in Manchester at 2:00pm on Saturday 9th November 2024 when Rob Shorland-Ball will give a talk on “Railways of North East Wales and Deeside”. Rob has also published a number of books on railways including one on the subject this lecture.
RCHS Meetings are held at the Friends Meeting House in central Manchester commencing at 14:00 hours (2pm). The Friends Meeting House is located at 6 Mount Street, M2 5NS. Mount Street connects Peter Street with Albert Square and is immediately to the rear of the Central Library. The nearest Metrolink tram stop is St Peter’s Square in front of the main entrance to Central Library. Oxford Road and Deansgate railway stations are ten minutes walk away. The nearest car parks are in Watson Street and Manchester Central (formerly GMEX). St Peters Square has through trams from both Piccadilly and Victoria stations.
Both WRRC members and non-members are welcome to attend this meeting. A voluntary contribution of £3.00 is suggested to help to defray expenses.
