C Chapman, P korrison Etches circa 1980

Post by stephebm »

At the end of 1980 the above dignitaries produced a complex set of TVR etches:
TVR/CC/1-3 TVR Small railcar and 6 wheeled lightweight trailer
TVR/CC/2 TVR 4wh 26'5"5 compt 3rd (c1884)
They included interior detail such as seats and partitions
And includes bogies and bogie splashers for Class C and I (see another topic!)
(The above is from a circular from Colin)

They require a fair degree of skill as the sides are built up in layers of etches, and need extra items (roofs, floors, wheels etc).

1. Has anyone built them or alternatively have a clue as to what is what on the etches, please?
2. Did the 6wh 3rd and 4wheel compo, which were hinted at, get anywhere near manuafacture?
3. Do the masters still exist for the etches?

Thanks

I have some etches for the 6 wheel 3rd and 4 wheel composite. It has always been one of those jobs that I will get round to one day to put them together. I think they would be quite difficult to build as there are no instructions or drawings. There are some signal parts on the etches, have a look at the attached scan.

I reckon these are less effort than the earlier ones as your carriage body layer detail is using half etches; /1 /2 and /3 used seperate etch layers for each "level"on "my" copies, which need fixing together to get the effect you have already| ;) .

I hope to build, like you, some day soon!
