Mousa Models

Post by wokmad »

Does any member have any experience of Mousa Models, owned by Bill Bedford? I ask because I ordered his kit, actually a resin printed body shell, for a GWR diagram P4 ballast wagon in early April this year and paid a £1 deposit as required. It was described as available with delivery in about 4 weeks. Apart from a brief acknowledgement I have heard nothing more. Likewise, I have received no response to enquiries made in mid-August and again last week. Recently, the Mousa website has been revised and this kit is now no longer listed!

It seems am I not alone. There was an extensive thread on this topic in December 1917 on rmweb:

The P4 kit used to be available as an etching, and there is an online account of how one was built:

If anyone one of these wagons going spare I would pleased to hear from them.

Bill Bedford is always slow to deliver. I ordered some Kirtley Midland Railway brake vans from him several years ago. I nagged him whenever I saw him and he always said they were in the pipeline and they finally arrived around 4 months ago. They are superb and well worth the wait.

I've just noticed that the P4 wagon kit is back on Mousa's website.

Thanks for the tip-off. I’ve contacted Mousa, so far without reply, and I’m not holding my breath!

It "disappeared" shortly after my last message, but has now reappeared.
