I have been in discussions about horseboxes and where they were placed in a train. I have seen several photos of horseboxes immediately behind the engine. Now were they there for the convenience of marshalling them or was it a rule on the Cambrian that is where they should be?
If it is a rule where would it be? I assume there is a Cambrian Rule Book, if so where could I find it?
Thank you

Re: Cambrian Horseboxes
There is no mention of horse boxes in the 1898 Cambrian Railways Rule Book only railway horse working. The Cam Rys 1st June 1921 Appendix to the Working Time Book only covers Loading, Contents, Cleansing and Disinfecting. In 1912 there was a Animal (Transit and General) Order but that is more about welfare and does not mention position in a train.
