Railway Passenger Stations in Great Britain, A Chronology (5th edition)

Over thirty years ago, Michael Quick amused himself by drawing maps showing the changing aspects of Britain’s railway network over time. Discovery of many gaps and anomalies in recording station names led him into the task of recording the names, name changes, opening dates and (if closed) closing dates of every railway passenger station in England, Wales and Scotland. The result was Quick’s Chronology, first published in 1995.

Since its first publication, there have been four subsequent editions published and periodic updates have also been issued. The 5th edition of “Railway Passenger Stations in Great Britain, A Chronology” is now available. It comprises the contents of the 4th edition and its 5 supplements plus further updates and new information. It is available to both members and non-members.

The Chronology is published by the Railway & Canal Historical Society and the electronic version is available (free) to members and non-members via the following link:

Am I right in thinking that there is not hard copy available to be purchased?
