You mention that Alastair Warrington has a full set of 1:2500 maps for Wales. On a more general point, is this scale of map available commercially?

I wrote that I believe Alastair Warrington has a full set of the GWR Property Plans for Wales. These are at a scale of 1:2500.

OS 1:2500 maps are available from a variety of sources, but you will almost certainly have to pay if you want copies of the whole sheets, which are very large, or even for portions. The only free source is likely to be the WRRC collection at Rhiwderin.

Otherwise, the BL in London has a complete set, as probably also does the NLW. Glamorgan Record Office in Cardiff and the South Wales Archive Service in Swansea should have sets for the areas they cover. Online sources are the NLS, but they have not got round to scanning the Welsh ones yet, and Old-Maps, www.old-maps.co.uk. I am aware of one dealer in old large scale OS maps, Cartographics, www.cartographics.co.uk.
