Pye Corner on Ebbw Vale branch

Can anyone confirm that a portion of the line at or near Llanhiledd is to be redoubled for a 30 minute service?

I went to Ebbw Vale today (Easter Monday) and walked from Parkway to Tyllwyn and back. Rails are laid (but not tamped) from EV Parkway to the General Offices. Trees have been cleared on the Up side on the approach to Llanhiledd. Jeff.

Some photos taken on the 8th March on my phone so not best quality and a little out of date now. The first shows the platforms of the new station under construction. The old RTB Offices (now the Gwent County Archive) are out of shot to the left. The second looks north towards the site of the new station. The third looks south, down the valley towards EV Parkway.

I plan to visit regularly so will post more photos as I take them.

I have just spoken to Arriva Trains Wales about the opening date of Ebbw Vale Town station. They cannot confirm a date but they are currently aiming for Sunday 17th May 2015 or shortly afterwards, possibly as late as the end of that month.
