Wrexham to Saltney (partial) redoubling

Post by dwrathan »

A new facing turnout has been laid in the (LMS) Down Main at Saltney Junction (towards the GWR Up) ready for the redoubling. No sign of any other work from Saltney towards Wrexham. Jeff.

Work has now started between Rossett and Balderton . The formation of the former Down line has been cleared for much of the way and some new ballast has arrived. Jeff.

Most of the rails are in place and trains are now using the new Down line. Appears to be on schedule for completion this year.

What difference will this make to service provision, dwrathan?

I don't know what service is proposed, I'll make some enquiries, Jeff.
