Hi all,

Just a quick heads-up. I have read on another forum that the Yellow Peril has been issued for another box in South Wales. Therefore, with effect from 0440hrs on Monday 30-Jun-2014, Barry SB will be closed and all signals controlled from SWCC.

Also, from the same date, Cardiff PSB will loose control of the line between Penarth East Curve and Danescourt to the SWCC Rhymney workstation. The situation will then be that SWCC will fringe to Radyr in both directions, via the City Line and via. Llandaff.

The lines between Barry Island to Barry, along with the Penarth Branch, will be One Train Working (OT(NS)). Leckwith Loop also will come under SWCC (Rhymney Valley Workstation) with the Cogan Loop converted to Passenger working.

I find it odd, however, that the SWCC Rhymney workstation will work from Danescourt to Penarth EC: logic might think that this stretch would come under a temporary IECC-type setup in Radyr IMO.

Anyway, time to get the camera out and get photos if you haven't already done so.

HTIOI,
Dave (Harries) "

I'm told that the final activity by Barry box was on Friday evening 27th June and is now closed. It seems the box is due for demolition in about two weeks time.
