O GAUGE TEST TRACK OPEN DAYS, Newport
Posted: Wed Jan 08, 2014 1:24 pm
These test track open days are being held on the following Saturdays in 2014:
1st March
28th June
20th September
13th December
Location: Shaftesbury Community Centre Newport. (location map here: http://www.newportmrs.co.uk/ )
Entrance is free.
This is open to anyone with an interest in O Gauge Modelling; you do not have to be a member of the Gauge O Guild, ALSRM or NMRS to come along.
The test track is a dual circuit approx. 30' x16'. Trackwork is Peco, hence only suitable for O Finescale wheel standards (i.e. Slaters, Heljan, Finescale Brass, etc.). Operation is by DC or DCC. Sorry no steam/third rail/coarse scale.
Items of stock are brought to the open day at the owners risk; we will not be taking out additional insurance (cost prohibitive).
Our aim is to provide a friendly running session where you can run your loco (we will provide rolling stock). Beginners are most welcome, if you are contemplating switching to O, have a loco giving issues, then come along. There will be a number of people there who will be willing to help with advice.
Tea/Coffee will be provided (Free), bring your own packed lunch.
Donations toward costs welcomed.
