WRRC Newsletter No. 137 gives details of the Cambrian Models kits for Cam Rys 2- and 4- plank wagons. I wonder if any member has had any experience with these kits, having built them or just simply having aquired on or ther other. I tried to buy some at Scaleforum in September but they were already sold out.

Actually, if anybody has built either or both of these kits and would like to write a review for the newsletter I'd be very happy to hear from them.
You can contact me at
newsletter@wrrc.org.uk
Cambrian Models would also love to hear from anyone who can help them with running numbers...

I bought one of each at the Newcastle show:

The solebars will come out just over 23mm apart. So a little filing and P4 modellers will be able to fit sprung W-irons fairly easily.
There is a nice little etch for the sheet supporter. Something new for Cambrian?

I'm not sure why Cambrian have brought out the 2 plank dropside as Wizard have had a nice one in their range for a few years. Here are a pair I made a few years ago, the fixed side version is based on a photo in the HMRS journal:
Transfers are from Dragon Models.

I bought one of each of these kits, essentially to try to squeeze a bit of Welsh stuff onto Jol Wilkinson's LNWR "London Road" layout. Smith's models did a selection of 4mm scale tarpaulins including a "Wales and the West" pack that includes a Cambrian one (but check this is still the case) so I can use that on the 4 plank wagon. I understand that Dragon models no longer do 4mm scale Cambrian wagon transfers, but now these kits have appeared perhaps Dragon can be persuaded to do them again? (the tarpaulin should hide the absence of Cambrian lettering on the 4 plank but the 2 plank will need lettering).

If anyone's looking for wagon sheets (aka tarpaulins) Cardiff boy Tom Petith of wagonsheets.co.uk does a range that includes the Cambrian and other Welsh companies.
