Circle webpage https://www.wrrc.org.uk/b&mrc.php gives the opening from Cefn (Coed) to Merthyr as 1 June 1868. However, <i>Brecon County Times</i> of 1 Aug 1868 gives the date as 1 August 1868.
The webpage also gives Dowlais Top to Pengam as opened 1 Sep 1868 - but the section from Dowlais Top to Fochriw (then Vochriw) had opened in September 1867, according to the <i>Merthyr Herald</i> of 7 Sep 1867.
How much else of this compilation is equally unreliable, I wonder.

Since established (from B& M directors' minutes) that Dowlais Top to Fochriw/Vocriw opened 1 Sep 1867.
