Post by BrianH »

A bit of advance information, an article featuring my Llanforen Shed layout is due to appear in the October 2024 issue and the layoutt itself will be at my club show in October. Brian Hunt

The article has appeared in the October Railway Modeller along with a brief outline of the Barry Railway.
I'm pleased with the way it has turned out.

Excellent article and even better that it remembered Charles Donovan and gave a good mention for Tony Miller. The following article on the Barry was also good. Many of the Welsh Valley railways don't get the attention from modellers that they deserve - pre-grouping R&SB layout anybody. Only 4 types of locos to build. Or the PTR&D - excellent 2 volume history to get you started.

While I agree with the sentiment about the lack of coverage, if you looked through the modeller back catalogue, you’ll find a series of articles on pre grouping wagons published in the 1970s. Lots of welsh railways covered during that series.

Regards.
