Pontypridd Graig runaround

I've been looking at RA Cooke's trackplan of the above and it shows two crossovers which would have facilitated a run round of the locomotive. This is important as the Cardiff to Pontypridd service, which began on 7th June 1897, terminated at Ponty and would have required a runaround to send the train back to Cardiff. However the second crossover was removed in 1907. In which case, how did the loco run round its train without having to go to Pwllgwaun to do so?

The Appendix to the Working Timetable might give the necessary into, Penrhos1920 gave the reference of Rail 1136/2 for the 1913 Appendix on another post, so you might want to consider a trip to Kew. (Be warned though, contact to the National Archives can be addictive

Please don't apologise for raising questions. Questions give rise to thought and thought gives rise to answers.
Following your line of reasoning, the ground frames would have been operated by the fireman and, if this was their only use, would have been well suited to the task. I also looked at Pontypridd Graig station on the Old Maps website, which unfortunately is not as detailed as I would like, and there does appear to be a crossover still in the middle of the station. In which case, Cooke's reference to the removal would refer to removal from control from the signal box, unless anyone else has information to the contrary.

How long was the platform at Pontypridd Graig?
The 1920 special notice regarding the Eisteddfod says that the Barry borrowed a 12 coach train from the GWR and the rear 3 or 4 coaches would not be in the platform at Pontypridd.
