There are numerous sources you could try:

The Middleton Press book on 'Branch Lines around Swansea' by Vic Mitchell and Keith Smith. (ISBN 978 1 908174 38 3)
R A Cooke's 'Track Layout Diagrams of the G.W.R. and BR W.R. - Section 55, Swansea G.W.R.'
The Alan Godfrey reprints of large scale Ordnance Survey maps might also be of help. Some cover the Swansea area - see www.alangodfreymaps.co.uk
Although not specifically about Swansea the following Gomer Press books by Gwyn Briwnant Jones, Denis Dunstone and Tudor Watkins might be of help:
'The Neath and Brecon Railway: A History' - ISBN 978 1 84323 452 4
'The Vale of Neath LIne' - ISBN 978 1 85902 446 1
'The Origins of the LMS in South Wales' ISBN 978 1 85902 671 7

In addition to the Alan Godfrey maps (which are very good), the National Library of Scotland's maps cover Swansea up to 1948.

Lost railways of South Wales by Mike Hall and Past and Present South Wales part 3 (issue 37) have small articles and photos of Swansea High Street as well.
