PTR 2-plank open wagon

Post by wokmad »

The instructions for the recently introduced Furness Railway Wagon Co. kit for a PTR 2-plank open wagon (built by Claye, PTR nos. 1-50) include the following statement: “The wagons were mainly used to convey general merchandise from between around south Wales although some of the wagons where photograph as far away as northern Scotland and southeast England.” This is an extraordinary claim on several counts, and further elucidation from the manufacturer has not been forthcoming. Apart from the dodgy grammar, can any member exemplify any of this, and point to the whereabouts of such photographs?
Thanks
