The Talyllyn Railway Through the Years, DVD, 97 minutes, 4:3 aspect ratio, colour/b/w, EAN 5 030095 10012 0, Oakwood Visuals, PO Box 13, Usk, NP15 1YS, £18.95 (www. oakwoodv.co.uk)
The Oakwood Press have brought out this DVD on the Talyllyn Railway. The first 20 or so minutes comprise of b/w cine footage taken by L T Catchpole in 1938 and colour film by Patrick Whitehouse in 1950. The rest of the DVD is a compilation of scenes from the whole of the preservation era including some very early scenes showing the dire condition of the railway in the early days. The whole of the route is covered including the Nant Gwernol extension. The narration is by Ken Morgan and there is no intrusive background music. Excellent.
